Restorer Ultimate

The Restorer Ultimate application will help alleviate the negative impact of a data loss accident. Available for Microsoft’s Windows operating system and for Apple’s Mac OS X, this data recovery tool will bring back files that you delete by accident or files that are lost due to a virus attack, for example. To put it simply, if you loose some data, Restorer Ultimate will do its best to get it back to you.

As mentioned above, Restorer Ultimate is available for Windows and Mac. The Windows installation file is 15MB in size. Run that file to install the data recovery tool on a PC that meets the following system requirements: Intel compatible platform powered by anything from Windows 7 down to Windows 9x, 32MB or RAM, enough free space to store the recovered data, and an internet connection if you want to restore data to a network drive.

Restorer Ultimate’s interface is simple to figure out: you have a list of all your drives presented on the main pane and a bunch of buttons on the pane to the left (buttons for creating and opening a drive image, for accessing the settings menu, for changing the language, and more).

A simple wizard will guide you through the process of recovering a file that you accidentally delete, for example. First up you must select the drive on which said file was stored. Hit the “Next” button and you will be invited to pick between File Search (it’s similar to Quick Scan in other data recovery tools) and Disk Scan (a more thorough scan will be performed). Pick File Search, and if that does not help, go with the Disk Scan option. Hit the “Next” button a second time and you will be presented with all the data that Restorer Ultimate can recover. Select the file you want to recover, hit the Next button a third time, and you will be asked to pick the output folder (the location where the recovered data will be saved). The last step is to hit the Recover button and let Restorer Ultimate bring that lost file back to life.

A registered Restorer Ultimate version will recover any file you select, regardless of its size. The trial version though will not recover files over 128KB.
